If you are tired of the snow and cold weather in your area, a trip to Cancun, Mexico may be the solution you need. Cancun is often thought of as a retreat to a world of sand and absolute paradise. Cancun is not only a great place to head for a honeymoon, it's a great location for any type of vacation, family trips, spring break, and business trips. There are tons of different activities that are available for every personality, making Cancun one of the top 25 travel destinations in the world.

To get started with your trip to Cancun, book a travel package, this way you will be able to experience all that Cancun has to offer and you don't have to run around looking for tickets to shows, scuba diving expeditions, and a day at the spa. Some of the beaches are currently under construction as they were destroyed by hurricanes. However, there are still plenty of beaches open to the public so you can easily catch some waves or some sun.

One thing you need to make time for when you are visiting Cancun is to head over to the Mayan ruins. You can walk through many structures built by this ancient civilization. The jungles surrounding it truly make it stand out from any other civilization. It does get really hot out there so take plenty of water with you and don't forget to bring your camera. The Mayan Temple tour is a must-do when you are in Cancun and you can purchase tickets from just about any hotel you stay at. You can do a complete Mayan Ruins tour that will take you to just about every Mayan Ruin in Mexico. The cost of this tour is about $1300 and it will last for 7 days. The Mayan Temple tour is very popular so you need to book your tour well in advance if you want to actually get in.

After you spend a day hiking through the Mayan Ruins, head over to the beaches of Cancun and swim in the crystal blue waters. The white sand beaches are absolutely gorgeous and most hotels have their own private beach areas where they will serve you drinks on the beach along with outdoor massages. Spend some time doing a snorkeling expedition through underground caves and cenotes. The boat tours will take you through canals that lead right to the Mayan Ruins so this is another thing you need to look into.

If you are a bird lover, you will have a great time in Cancun. Hundreds of different bird species reside here, most notably the pink flamingo. There is a wild bird refuge you can visit and see all of the different types of bird that live in the area. From April to August, the pink flamingos are nesting and you can see their mud nests that they build next to the shoreline.

Take some time to visit Garrafon National Reef Park. This park is full of jungle, swamps, and coastlines and it is amazing to see. There are jaguars, birds, and turtles in this wild region. You can take a boat cruise through the park which is a lot of fun because quite often the birds fly down into the boats and one might just land on your shoulder! Parrots are very friendly in this region and always on the lookout for tourists that will feed them.

If you love to go caving, head over to Aktun Chen. The caves are 5 millions years old and you can explore them via river boat. Outside the caves, there are wild monkeys, boars, and other animals in their natural habitat.
